Morton West High School is a four (4) year, 9-12 comprehensive high school that opened in 1958. Since the building opened, two student additions have been added in the 90's. W-wing was added to the south of the building and D-wing to the north. The student enrollment is about 3,200 students.
City of Berwyn Offers Two $1,000 Scholarships
The City of Berwyn is offering the Dollars for Scholars Educational Scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 to two deserving students who will be entering an accredited college, university, vocational of technical school as a full time student in the Fall of 2012.
Candidates are evaluated on scholastics, community involvement, financial need, teacher appraisal and their commitment to education.
Applications for the Dollars For Scholars program will be available at the Berwyn City Clerk’s office (1st floor, 6700 West 26th St., Berwyn, IL.) Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9am to 5pm and Tuesdays from 9am to 8pm or on line at the City of Berwyn website www.Berwyn-IL.gov, on the City Clerks page at http://berwyn-il.gov/pdf/Clerk/COB Dollars4scholars.pdf. The deadline to turn in applications is Thursday June 15, 2012. The awarding of the scholarships will take place in July or early August, date to be announced.
The scholarship Board urges all eligible candidates to apply as soon as possible. Judging is based on a point system so that each candidate is considered fairly. If you have any questions, please contact the Clerk’s office at 708/788-2660 x 3232#.

Regarding the Illinois Youth Survey
Dear Parents & Guardians of Sophomore & Senior Students,
Morton West High School is working with the Center of Prevention Research and Development at the University of Illinois to conduct a statewide survey of Illinois high school students. The purpose of the Illinois Youth Survey is to better understand Illinois youth risk and protective behaviors as they relate to student problems and success.
Morton West sophomores and senior take the survey on Thursday, May 3rd in their physical education class. On Friday, April 27th, all sophomore and senior students were given a parent notification letter and permission denial form and ask to take it home. Please ask your child to see it. Unless the denial form is returned to Room A104 at Morton West, the student will take the survey.
