Mr. Jason Booker

It's nice to meet you. I am very excited to share my expertise with the Morton family. Becoming a college counselor has been a long-term goal of mine since I entered the field of school counseling in 2011. I am committed to helping each student graduate high school with a postsecondary plan, whether it includes college, military, or the workforce. Living previously in California and Tennessee has given me a broader perspective that allows me to better advise students in making intelligent decisons about the future. I am a first-generation college attendee and can speak to some of the unique challenges that first-gen and minority students face in this process. I aim to help students navigate the challenging financial aid landscape to make college accessible and affordable for all. The roots of my counseling philosophy are to build authentic relationships and simplify everything. I am also a strong advocate of the trades, and a combination of trade school, apprenticeship, and community college would be a wise long-term plan for many Morton students to consider. I look forward to being an ally to your family in the college and career planning process.
