Morton East Building Construction

  • Dear, Morton parents, students and community members,

As the new school year begins, we are eager to welcome our students back. While the schools are in the midst of major facility improvements, we are ready to get the new year underway. In addition to the new Freshman Academy at Morton West and the complete replacement of the HVAC system and related classroom renovations at Morton East, by the end of the year both schools will have new student and visitor services areas that will be more efficient and improve the security of the schools.

In addition, both campuses are scheduled to have the libraries renovated next summer to provide Morton students the collaborative and inviting learning spaces they deserve. In the meantime, the schools have also added more “0 hour” opportunities, more academic, college/career and social/emotional support personnel, more extracurricular program supports, and a new bell schedule that provides students a later start time that is more in line with the research on adolescent learners.

These new resources, along with the steady academic improvements that the schools have made over the past several years, make 2018-2019 an exciting time to be a Mustang. Please join me in welcoming our students back to school, and GO MUSTANGS!

    Mr. Timothy Truesdale
