Integrated Mathematics I Honors: Biliteracy For All
Course Description
Students in this course study; expressions, introduction to functions and interpreting functions, linear relationships and modeling linear functions, congruence of geometry, systems of equations, inferential statistics, exponential functions, and comparing exponential functions and linear functions by modeling, extending the number systems, representing quadratic functions, and working with and modeling quadratic functions. Students in this course will study the same materials as in Integrated Mathematics l CORE and 1st semester of Integrated Mathematics 2 CORE, but at a faster pace. Acceleration and depth-of-study are characteristics of this program. Students can enroll in Integrated II HONORS from Integrated l CORE by passing the Integrated II HONORS Summer Seminar. This course is a part of the School for Biliteracy Program.

Course Description
This course will prepare students for other college-level mathematics and science courses. Through regular practice, students build deep mastery of modeling and functions, and they examine scenarios through multiple representations. The course framework delineates content and skills common to college precalculus courses that are foundational for careers in mathematics, physics, biology, health science, social science, and data science. Topics include polynomial & rational functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, trigonometric & polar functions, and functions involving parameters, vectors, and matrices. ACT Preparation activities are included. Students can enroll in AP Precalculus from Integrated II Honors by passing the Integrated Mathematics III Summer Seminar Course. This course is a part of the School for Biliteracy Program.

Course Description
This course is for students who want to develop their science skills and their Spanish language skills. This course is for students who have speaking skills in Spanish. Most of the topics will be covered in Spanish. Students will take their assessments with a bilingual exam. Students develop an understanding of laws that govern the existence of all life. Student work emphasizes experimentation, observation and analysis of experimental data. Concepts involving problem solving, biochemistry, ecology, evolution, reproduction, heredity, plant and animal physiology and the pattern of unity among living things are also studied. This course is accepted for college preparation in laboratory science. This course is a part of the School for Biliteracy program.

Student work focuses on the study of minerals, rocks, volcanology, seismology, plate tectonics, hydrology, meteorology, earth history, and interpreting earth science data. Course Description
This course is designed for students with an advanced speaking and writing skills in Spanish. Students will study culture from Spanish-speaking countries using reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Students will enjoy various readings and activities concerning festivities, important historical events, different indigenous groups, and works of influential authors of Spanish-speaking countries as well as learn about the Latinos in the United States and how they have shaped the Latino communities as well as the economy and education in the United States. Course is given all in Spanish.

Course Description
This course supports the goals of the Portrait of a Morton Graduate Career Focus. Students will prepare for certification in Translation and Interpretation. This course helps students prepare for the Seal of Biliteracy. This course prepares students for using their Spanish language assets in a work setting. Students will be able to prove their language skills and report them on their resume.

What is the Seal of Biliteracy?
The Seal of Biliteracy is a recognition given to graduating Seniors who demonstrate high levels of proficiency in English and another language.
Seal of Biliteracy Criteria
What is the criteria of the Seal of Biliteracy?
English (ONE of the following):
- ACT Score composite of 21 or 18 on the English Subject Area Test
- SAT Score of 480 in English Language Arts (EBRW)
- ACCESS Score of 4.8 Overall
- AP English Language and Composition score of 5
- AAPPL Test Score of Intermediate-5 or Advanced in all 4 domains
World Language (ONE of the following):
- 4 or 5 on the AP Language and Culture Exam
- AAPPL Test score of Intermediate-5 or Advanced in all 4 domains
- Portfolio option for languages in which tests are not available
What is the criteria for the Commendation toward the Seal of Biliteracy?
