In late February, the Morton East and Freshman Center Mathletes participated remotely in the ICTM Regional Mathematics Contest. Senior Alejandro Ramirez qualified for the ICTM State competition with his individual score in the subject of Pre-Calculus. He will compete against the top Mathletes in the state on April 30th. The Algebra team, led by top-scorers Hector Valtierrez, Emily Andablo, David Salas, and Alondra Cuevas, broke a Morton school record by scoring 78 points in the Algebra contest. Additional outstanding individual performances were turned-in by Marlen Resendez Leyva, Jose Florenzano, Sean Rosas, Michael Armea, Anthony Dominguez, Fernando Reyes, Oskar Sevilla, Rolando Carreno, Eduardo Morales, Enoc De Jesus, and Karla Gomez. As a team, the Mustangs scored 283 points. Congratulations to all of the Mathletes and their coaches: Barb Kane, Kevin Volk, Rachel Hosek, and Matt Horvath.
